Description

Ron Whitcombe wants to get out of Wellington and see the world.

But it's the middle of the Great Depression and he is stuck in a dead-end job as an office boy. He can't see any way of changing his destiny.

In 1940, an advertisment in the newspaper catches his eye: 'Duty calls - the Air Force needs qualified recruits!'

One year later he is flying planes across the Sahara Desert, and he has a rather risky side hustle on the go.

The Takoradi Run is a gripping adventure based on actual events, about World War Two, the end of an empire and a kit-bag full of cash!
Written and illustrated by Bob Kerr, the author of Jack & Sandy.
