Alastair is the technical mastermind building the software and systems that power everything behind the scenes. While you may never see his work, it's his technology that keeps orders flowing smoothly and ensures toys are picked, packed and on their way to homes all over New Zealand as quickly as possible.

Growing up, Alastair loved building with LEGO, K'NEX and Meccano, spending hours designing and creating whatever his imagination could dream up. That love of building has never really disappeared - these days he shares his childhood LEGO, DUPLO and K'NEX collections with his daughter. One of his favourite rediscoveries has been his old Thunderbirds Tracy Island, along with a collection of Matchbox rescue vehicles! They may be missing a few pieces (and the batteries definitely didn't survive!), but they still spark the same joy they did decades ago.

Amelia is our Sales Hero – Puzzles & Board Games, leading our growing range and making sure Kiwi puzzlers and gamers can always find something exciting in stock at Toy Hero. A passionate board gamer, she loves gathering family around the table and has even created an incredible puzzle wall at home to display some of her favourite completed puzzles.

Growing up, Amelia's world revolved around Barbie, Bratz and Polly Pocket. One of her favourite memories was turning the laundry landing at the top of the stairs into an ocean, where her Ocean Barbie (complete with an orca!) would perform dives and tricks. She also had a much-loved dollhouse, and today, that same dollhouse has been given a new lease on life as she carefully restores it for her niece to enjoy!

Amy helps keep Toy Hero running over the weekend, making space for new arrivals, stocking shelves, moving toys between the warehouse and showroom, and making sure weekend orders are picked and ready for the courier first thing on Monday morning.

Growing up, Amy's favourite "toy" was undoubtedly her pair of Heelys, which she wore everywhere she possibly could. She also loved Monster High dolls, with Draculaura firmly holding the title of favourite (and still does!), and spent hours mastering an ankle skip ball. In fact, she once used it so much, she woke up the next morning unable to feel the leg.

When she's not at Toy Hero, Amy is studying towards a psychology degree, spending time with her cat Lucy, or making music. She plays an impressive range of instruments, including the flute, tenor saxophone, timpani and, perhaps most unexpectedly, the bagpipes.

Cam is responsible for scaling Toy Hero's operations, warehouse team and systems to support our rapid growth. From improving processes to planning bigger warehouses and smarter ways of working, he's always thinking several steps ahead to help Toy Hero grow.

As a kid, Cam was happiest outdoors with anything involving a bat and ball. He was also a huge Yu-Gi-Oh! fan - although, by his own admission, it was mostly because the card artwork looked amazing. He amassed an impressive collection without ever really learning how to play the game! These days, toy time revolves around his own kids, who love collecting plastic animals (especially birds and ocean creatures) and can spend hours building incredible creations with magnetic tiles.

Dom is one of the driving forces behind the Toy Hero fulfilment team, making sure your order gets out the door quickly and in pristine condition. He currently holds the Toy Hero record with an unbeaten 156 orders fulfilled and shipped in a single hour. As Dom would say... "Just another day. Bang bang."

When asked about his favourite childhood toys, Dom said there weren't many :( He grew up making the most of rugby balls, cricket bats, sticks (!?) and, yes, plenty of pet rocks. These days, rugby is still a huge part of his life and training schedule after work, but he's also developed a surprising appreciation for intricate Rolife models and has been known to spoil his girlfriend with the occasional Palm Pal.

Duncan is Toy Hero's Inwards Hero, responsible for receiving thousands of incoming toys and making sure everything is accurately processed and ready for customers as quickly as possible!

Growing up, his biggest toy obsession was Beyblades - let it rip! His favourite was a Driger Beyblade, although he managed to lose it at school 7 times and his mum eventually got sick of re-buying it... He also loved building Gunpla model kits, collecting Transformers figures, and spent countless hours trading Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards.

Outside of work, you'll usually find him watching UFC, playing ARPG video games with Cam, or enjoying a competitive board game night with friends (Exploding Kittens is his favourite).

Growing up, Dylan's imagination was fuelled by toys. His all-time favourite was LEGO, especially the classic Space sets, although as a huge Sir Peter Blake fan he also spent countless hours designing and building his own LEGO yachts of his bedroom floor. He also loved his red 1:18 scale Ferrari Testarossa (red, of course) and accumulated an ever-growing collection of Star Wars action figures.

Today, Dylan leads the Toy Hero team with the same sense of curiosity and imagination that inspired him as a child. His mission is to build a company where special people work together to create a unique and memorable retail experience for customers.

Eve is a bright ray of sunshine in our Hobsonville store, with a genuine love for helping people and making every visit a memorable one - she even once made an especially frazzled customer a cup of tea! As a child, Eve's favourite toy was her Cabbage Patch Kid (that shared her birthday, of course) along with Barbie, Strawberry Shortcake and My Little Pony. To make sure her Barbies had suitable boyfriends, she would quietly "borrow" Marvel and DC superheroes from her brothers' toy collection. Eve also grew up during the height of the Loom Band craze and became a serious creator and trader, proudly swapping her colourful creations with friends at school.

Hannah spends her time between our store, helping customers online and putting her lightning-fast stock-picking skills to good use in the warehouse - a true all-rounder! A huge reader, she studied English Literature at university and is always happy to recommend a great book.

Growing up, Hannah loved being outdoors and would spend hours playing pole tennis with her brothers. She was thrilled when her family got bikes, then a trampoline, and eventually a table tennis table, which she's still obsessed with today! They also had an amazing marble run that they spent hours building and rearranging, creating elaborate Rube Goldberg-style machines.

Jordan keeps the Toy Hero warehouse running smoothly, making sure every order is picked, packed and shipped as quickly as possible. If you've ever been surprised by how fast your Toy Hero order arrived, there's a very good chance Jordan played a part.

Growing up, Jordan loved Zoids, K'NEX, LEGO and Hot Wheels. His LEGO creations were usually cars, planes or wild post-apocalyptic machines that looked like they'd rolled straight out of Mad Max. He also had a passion for fast cars, spending countless hours racing Hot Wheels and building an ever-growing collection of model supercars - a hobby that's stayed with him well into adulthood (while he saves for the real thing!).

Growing up, Kevin was obsessed with the Japanese animated series Saint Seiya (better known in New Zealand as Knights of the Zodiac). He collected the action figures, which were unlike anything else at the time, featuring real die-cast metal armour that could be removed from the characters and rebuilt into impressive statues of each warrior's zodiac sign. Together with his mates, Kevin spent countless afternoons transforming cardboard boxes and skateboards into the twelve legendary temples from the series, recreating epic battles as the heroes fought to save the goddess Athena.

Lizzy helps make the Toy Hero showroom a warm and welcoming place for the Hobsonville community, where families can browse, play and discover something special together. With her genuine kindness and love of toys, books and storytelling, she's passionate about creating a place that children can't wait to come back to.

As a child, Lizzy's imagination knew no bounds. She loved dressing up and pretending to be a doctor with her medical kit, a teacher surrounded by cuddly toy students, or a mum looking after an ever-growing family of baby dolls. Her favourites were the dolls with magical milk and juice bottles that seemed to empty as they drank. She also spent countless hours in a tent in the backyard, transforming it into whatever her imagination dreamed up, complete with toy kitchen sets, books and craft kits. For Lizzy, the best toys were always the ones that turned an ordinary afternoon into an unforgettable adventure.

Marnie keeps Toy Hero running smoothly behind the scenes, balancing the books, running payroll so our Heroes are paid on time, and making sure the numbers adds up exactly as it should. Growing up, Marnie loved Schleich animals. While her sister collected horses, Marnie expanded the family menagerie with all kinds of creatures. She also spent hours playing with Barbie and Bratz dolls, sewing outfits from fabric scraps alongside her sister, Lana, and repurposing dollhouses into homes and stables. When imagination demanded something new, LEGO bricks became houses, barns and entire worlds for her growing collection of animals.

Philip is happiest when he's helping customers, always going the extra mile to make sure every Toy Hero experience is a positive one.

Growing up, Philip loved just about every toy imaginable. He was obsessed with Pokémon, collecting the games, trading cards, action figures and even Pokédex replicas. He also spent hours designing new track layouts for his Tomy trains, happily watching them loop around for hours on end. Beyblades, plush toys, Furbys and even Barbie all found a place in his toy collection.

Roopa supports our Sales Heroes behind the scenes as our specialist replenishment buyer - ensuring we have plenty of stock of our best selling toys! Growing up, Roopa loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, My Little Pony, Polly Pocket and Care Bears. She also had a huge collection of Pogs and still remembers taking them to school in an old ice cream container to challenge friends at lunchtime! These days, Roopa is mum to two girls, and she's enjoying a whole new generation of favourite toys. Their interests have evolved from Paw Patrol, Spidey and Gabby's Dollhouse to Barbie and Monster High - and it's clear to us that Roopa is having just as much fun playing with them as they are.

Sacha is the creative force behind Toy Hero's design, social media and events! As a child, Sacha was completely obsessed with Barbie. She had countless favourites, including Porsche Boxster Barbie with her bright red convertible, Splash Barbie whose braid magically changed colour in hot and cold water, and Ocean Friends Barbie, complete with an orca and a wetsuit that appeared when she got wet. A childhood memory that's stayed with her forever is visiting Hamleys in London as an eight-year-old and discovering an entire floor dedicated to Barbie. It felt magical, and she never wanted to leave. That's the feeling Sacha hopes every child experiences when they visit Toy Hero.

Shirl is Book Hero's official book buyer, and at Toy Hero she's on a mission to build an incredible range of children's books to inspire the next generation of readers!

Growing up, Shirl's favourite toys were closely tied to the TV shows she loved. She treasured her Butterbear Wuzzle plush, collected little Snorks figurines, and adored her Rainbow Brite doll. One of her happiest childhood memories was meeting Rainbow Brite at the old Farmers department store - a moment she still remembers decades later! She also fell in love with everything Sanrio, filling her room with Hello Kitty toys and keepsakes. That passion hasn't faded, and she still happily collects Hello Kitty treasures today, with many proudly displayed on her desk here at HQ.

Siobhan is our Stock Control Queen, putting her eye for detail and expert puzzling skills to work by making sure every square metre of our warehouse is used brilliantly and every toy is exactly where it should be.

Growing up, Siobhan's favourite toys were Barbie and Polly Pocket. While Amelia was launching her Barbies off the upstairs landing into imaginary oceans, Siobhan was taking hers swimming and staging dramatic rescue missions from the bottom of the pool. She also has fond memories of family competitions to build the tallest DUPLO and LEGO towers - although being the shortest Burns, she was at a slight height disadvantage!

Growing up in the '80s and early '90s, Tim's childhood was defined by action figures. Masters of the Universe, Star Wars, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and WWF figures all featured heavily, while a box of LEGO became X-Wings and other Star Wars ships years before official Star Wars LEGO sets even existed. A big kid and true collector at heart, Tim has built an impressive collection of pinball machines, retro arcade games and carefully curated pop culture memorabilia. Outside of work, he's happiest hunting down the next great addition to his collection on Trade Me or Facebook Marketplace.

Tim is responsible for the Toy Hero website, making sure everything you see looks fun and works exactly as it should. Growing up, he spent countless hours building and creating with LEGO, Meccano and K'NEX, while his original Action Man saw lots and lots of adventures. He also collected Pokémon toys and cards, later graduating to Dragon Ball Z cards. One of his prized possessions was a die-cast white Porsche 911 with blue and yellow wheels. His beloved Fisher-Price castle from the '90s has survived the decades and is now enjoyed by his own two boys.
