Description
Ko Ngā Whetū Hauhau, Ko Ngā Whetū Tarakaka o Matariki (The Wild and Windy Stars of Matariki – Māori Edition) by Miriama Kamo tells the enchanting tale of Te Rerehua and Sam, who adore the wild and windswept land of Te Mata Hapuku, a place where stones whisper stories and stars shine brightly.
One mysterious night, they discover strange fires on the beach, leading them into a playful yet perilous trick by the mischievous patupaiarehe. As Sam is lured towards the crashing waves, the patupaiarehe revel in the thought that he will soon be one of them.
Their grandma and Poua, determined to rescue Sam, harness the power of Ururangi's winds and Waipunarangi's rain. Together, they strive to outwit the cunning fairy folk and bring Sam back safely, all under the watchful gaze of the Matariki stars.
