Description

Toadstools, teapots, playing cards and chess pieces all spring gloriously to life in this surreal take on Lewis Carroll's beloved classic. Maria Rivans takes her cue from the 92 illustrations, which John Tenniel produced in close collaboration with Carroll himself, and sets them in her own idiosyncratic version of wonderland.

Featuring: Alice (including shrunken Alice, giant Alice, long-necked Alice...), the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, the Duchess, the Caterpillar with his Hookah, the Mad Hatter, the March Hare and the Dormouse. Also, the King, Queen and Knave of Hearts and guards (number cards), the Gryphon, the Mock Turtle. And from Through the Looking Glass: the white and black kittens, the White Queen, the Red Queen, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the Red King, the Talking Sheep, the Walrus and the Carpenter, the Lion and Unicorn, etc.
