Schnitzel Von Krumm's Basketwork is a delightful and charming addition to Lynley Dodd's beloved Hairy Maclary and Friends series. This humorous and heartwarming tale follows the adventures of Schnitzel von Krumm, a small, scrappy dachshund with a big personality, whose life is turned upside down when his family decides to replace his cherished, albeit smelly, old basket.
Schnitzel von Krumm is appalled at the loss of his beloved basketwork. Determined to find a new cosy spot, he sets off on a quest. However, each new place he tries — whether it’s in a pile of laundry, the broom cupboard, the vegetable basket, or under a shrub in the garden — fails to provide the comfort and familiar smell of his old basket. His fruitless search captures the very essence of a dog's loyalty and attachment to the simple comforts of home.
Tucked in a hideyhole under the stair,
lay a rickety basket in need of repair...
As the days go by, Schnitzel’s family begins to realise just how much his old basket meant to him.
