The Gavin Bishop Treasury is a very special hardback collection of 10 classic children's stories for young readers to treasure, written and illustrated by the multiple-award-winning New Zealand author Gavin Bishop.
Comprising over two hundred pages of fabulous storytelling and stunning artwork, children will be spellbound by this beautiful hardback gift treasury featuring ten favourite fairy tales and original stories by the acclaimed Gavin Bishop.
Between the covers, you will find four of Gavin's delightful original tales, featuring beloved characters such as drab Mrs McGinty, who becomes a sensation when a fast-growing plant takes off in her yard. You will also meet a rainbow-chasing sheep, a little rabbit who longs to visit the sea, and a bear who decides he can go without his winter sleep.
There are also six of Gavin's delicious, humour-filled fairy tale retellings, including crafty Mr Fox with an empty food sack to fill, the gloriously illustrated Three Little Pigs, and Rats!, in which Mrs Polly Piper, vexed by an infestation of cheeky rodents, accepts help from the dashing, accordion-playing Rapscallion Claw.

About the Author
Gavin Bishop (Tainui, Ngati Awa) is a highly acclaimed children's book author and illustrator of more than 70 books, whose work ranges from original stories to retellings of Maori myths, European fairy stories, and nursery rhymes. He has won the supreme Margaret Mahy Book of the Year Award a record five times - and most recently in 2022 with his ATUA- Maori Gods and Heroes, which also won the Elsie Locke Award for Non-fiction and the Russell Clark Award for Illustration. The Storylines Gavin Bishop Award for Picture Book Illustration was established in his name in 2009 to encourage emergent illustrators. Gavin lives and works in Christchurch, New Zealand.
