About the Author

Lydia Monks is one of the most original picture book artists working today. Her distinctive use of colour and collage has won her critical acclaim and several awards, including the Smarties Prize. Lydia has illustrated a number of books by Children's Laureate Julia Donaldson, including the hugely successful What the Ladybird Heard. Ella Richardson's unique and imaginative story for UK ITV Daybreak's What's the Story? competition beat over 7,000 other entries from children around the UK to take first prize. Ella is 12 years old and lives in Suffolk with her mum, dad and brother.
